Neighbour Day Celebration
To help combat the problem Community Engagement Coordinator we launched Neighbour Day in Officer in an effort to encourage community safety and cohesion through friendship. The event was covered by local media, Learn to love thy neighbour.
Prevention Against Family Violence
We have partnered with local Girls Guide and Regional Health Center to lead a project to create awareness on prevention against family violence. We worked with four schools and students from grade 1 to year 12 participated in this project. The students drew posters to showcase their thoughts and ideas on how they see their ideal world without violence, harassment and bully. Nine posters were selected to be displayed on the local bus windows for a year. All of their 50 posters were at display at public libraries and Cardinia Cultural Center for months for public viewing.
Harmony Day Festival at Beaconsfield
We organised this multicultural event in collaboration with our partner organisation Beaconsfield Neighbourhood Center.
International Mother Language Day
Celebrating International Mother Language Day was first of its kind. This was a memorable event as we gathered people from many different backgrounds to come together and celebrate their diversity with cultural performances, food and entertainment for children. We worked with local council, Casey Cardinia Libraries and community houses to make this event successful. Members of the parliament and local government and community leaders were present on that day. Please find link to local media coverage: Language of Love.
